A short essay inspired by my favorite comfort show of all time.

Anne with an E follows Anne Shirley Cuthbert, a fiercely imaginative and outspoken red-haired orphan who, due to a mix-up, is adopted by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert—a reserved brother and sister living in Avonlea. The show captures Anne’s journey as she navigates friendships, embraces her boundless imagination, and challenges social conventions, gradually blossoming into the best version of herself—while, ever so surely, changing the lives of those around her.
Another reason I love this show so much is that every character has so much depth, reminding us that learning doesn’t stop just because we grow older. As human beings, our layers are shaped by our unique interpretations of the world and the experiences that define us—whether early or later in life. Anne with an E isn’t just a favorite show I find myself returning to from time to time; it’s a source of inspiration, pushing me to embrace girlhood, my identity, my self-growth journey, and the evolving stories of those around me.
Deeply reflective and [insert word], each episode feels like a cup of warm green tea on days when your throat needs soothing—a sense of warmth and comfort that spreads through my body, a happiness so gentle yet contagious.
